There are a number of things to consider when considering the purchase of one of the variety of Lake Hartwell homes for sale.  You really have to assess your needs and resources and go from there.

Not only do you want to consider the basics like the number of bedrooms and baths, and the overall style of the home, but you want to take into consideration much more.
In your quest for the ideal lake house, ask yourself questions like.....

Factors in Considering Which
Lake Hartwell Home For Sale to Purchase

Lot size:
Is it big enough for the amount of entertaining that I want to do?
It may be that you are buying a house or log cabin on Lake Hartwell to use as a corporate retreat, a permanent relocation, or just a second home to be used as a weekend getaway or vacation home.

Do I need room for children or pets to play and enjoy the scenery, or are you more concerned with having minimal upkeep?

Lake Hartwell Water Depth:
How important is deep water?  What is the water like out from the dock? Gradual slope or steep drop-off?  This is important, especially on Lake Hartwell, since it is a Corps of Engineers reservoir that fluctuates in level due to planned and unplanned variables.

Lake Hartwell Dock Rights and Size:
If there isn't a dock in place, could you obtain a permit should you choose to get a dock?  Which size dock will be approved?

What State / County / City:
Do you want to be close to a city?  Is it important to you whether you live in Georgia or South Carolina?  Were you more particular to Hart County, Franklin County, Stephens County, Anderson County, or Oconee County?  Further, did you hope to be near Hartwell, Lavonia, Toccoa, Anderson, Fair Play, Seneca, or some other Lake Hartwell community?

Neighborhood Considerations:
With each state, county, city, and subdivision surrounding Lake Hartwell having different requirements, it is very important to investigate these considerations.  Some subdivisions have covenants and restrictions, and possibly home owners' associations that might influence your decision of where and what to buy or build on Lake Hartwell.
